Dear Alaskan Employer:
Alaska Statute
25.27.075 was changed to comply with federal law. All Alaskan employers
are now required to report every new hire and rehire to the Child Support
Services
division (CSSD) within 20 days of hire. The only exceptions to this requirement are
employers who have employees in more than one state and report to another state.
We at CSSD are very interested in working with employers to assure compliance with the
legislation. This law will help children in Alaska and other states as we are able to
quickly determine where absent parents are working. If you have any questions, please

Employers may submit the data by magnetic tape or PC diskette. If you use one of
these means, you must use the format described in the attachment and report it twice
monthly. This information may also be transmitted by mail or you may fax a copy of the
employees W-4 form to (907) 787-3197 or (907) 787-3181. CSSD is willing to work with
employers to define other acceptable methods of data transmission.
